Is the Chief Instructor at CRT and is passionate about emergency medicine and education. He has a special interest in Wilderness medicine and trauma. He is responsible for staff training, writing courses and teaching. He has been described as at ‘the level of the top army instructors’
After more than a decade as an army medic, reaching CMT 1 with BARTS/BATLS training Russ has a Degree in Law, a BTEC in Teaching in Lifelong Learning, City and Guilds 7302 and ASLS Train the Trainer certificate. He has travelled around the world and worked on several continents as an expedition medic.
Climbing, Mountaineering, Paddling, Bee-Keeping, building the household furniture and most outdoor activities.
He drinks tea by the litre and his favourite quote is: “Some of the World's most incredible achievements have been made by people too stupid to know that they are impossible”
